Jani is Schumaila Rehmat Hussain's debut album, a tribute to the poet Jaun Elia whose verses she has been drawn to since she began composing. The album sets ten of his poems to original music, giving his words a sound that is both faithful and entirely new.

It is a record about loss, longing, and the particular kind of love Jaun Elia wrote about: sharp, unresolved, and honest. Schumaila's voice carries it without embellishment.
